Crude oil futures fell 0.59 per cent to Rs 3,013 per barrel today as speculators indulged in reducing positions amid a weak trend in Asian trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October was trading down by Rs 18 or 0.59 per cent at Rs 3,013 per barrel in 1,584 lots.
Similarly, the oil for November delivery moved down by Rs 18 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 3,065 per barrel in 27 lots.
Trading sentiment remained weak at the futures trade after crude oil prices fell in Asian trade as investors looked for further clues about the health of the Chinese and US economies, the world’s top crude consumers, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for November delivery eased by 48 cents to $45.22, while brent crude for November dipped 47 cents to $48.13 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
