Crude oil futures declined by 0.53 per cent to Rs 4,836 per barrel today in line with a weak trend in Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October shed Rs 26 or 0.53 per cent to Rs 4,836 per barrel with a business volume of 7,580 lots.
Similarly, the oil for November delivery moved down by Rs 25 or 0.51 per cent to Rs 4,872 per barrel with a turnover of 1,166 lots.
Market analysts said the fall in crude oil futures prices was in line with a weakening trend in Asia after the International Energy Agency (IEA) cut its global crude demand growth forecast for this year and next and data showed rising US stockpiles.
Meanwhile, crude oil for delivery in November was down 72 cents at $91.14 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
