Crude oil futures fell 0.22 per cent to Rs 2,767 per barrel today as speculators reduced bets amid a weak trend in Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April dropped Rs 6 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 2,767 per barrel in 6,174 lots.
Similarly, oil for delivery in far-month May moved down Rs 6 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 2,841 per barrel in 184 lots.
Trading sentiments at the futures trade dampened after crude oil prices dipped slightly in Asia today but stayed above $41 a barrel as OPEC raised hopes of a moderate rebound from a meeting of key producers in Qatar in April, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May fell 5 cents to $41.47, while Brent crude for May was down 7 cents at $41.47 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
