Crude oil futures prices today fell 0.36 per cent to Rs 4,684 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April fell Rs 17 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 4,684 per barrel in 8,851 lots. Similarly, the oil for May delivery moved down by Rs 16 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 4,721 per barrel in 2,455 lots.
Analysts said that the trading sentiment remained weak at the futures trade after crude oil prices declined in the Asian trade on slowing Chinese growth and concerns over weaker global energy demand.
Meanwhile, crude oil for May delivery shed 14 cents to $86.54 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
