Crude oil futures prices fell 0.29 per cent to Rs 6,138 per barrel today, after speculators reduced their exposures amid a mixed trend in Asian trade.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in May fell Rs 18 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 6,138 per barrel in 51 lots.
Similarly, crude oil for April delivery moved down by Rs 14 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 6,148 per barrel in a turnover of 1,294 lots.
The sentiment turned weak at the futures trade largely in line with a mixed trend in Asia following big gains in European and US trade that were fuelled by renewed Russia-Ukraine tensions, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude oil for May delivery eased 12 cents to $102.44 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile, while Brent North Sea crude for May was up five cents at $107.72.
