Crude oil futures fell 0.32 per cent to Rs 6,138 per barrel today as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the Asian market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in March fell Rs 20 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 5,344 per barrel in 103 lots.
Similarly, the oil for February delivery moved down by Rs 18 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 6,138 per barrel in 2,062 lots.
According to marketmen, trading sentiment turned weak after crude oil prices declined in thin Asian trade as investors booked profits.
Meanwhile, crude oil for March delivery eased seven cents to $98.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
