Crude oil futures prices today fell 0.18 per cent to Rs 6,204 per barrel as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in the Asian trade.
Trading sentiment turned weak at the futures trade following fall in crude oil prices in Asian trade as dealers await the resumption of disrupted Libyan crude exports, while ebbing fears about fighting in major producer Iraq also weighed, analysts said.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in July shed Rs 11 or 0.18 per cent to Rs 6,204 per barrel in 2,151 lots.
Similarly, the oil for August delivery moved down by Rs 10 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 6,205 per barrel in a volume of 87 lots.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for August delivery was down 11 cents at $103.42 a barrel, while Brent North Sea crude eased 19 cents to $110.05 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
