Crude oil futures prices today fell marginally by 0.09 per cent to Rs 5,468 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.
Trading sentiment turned weak after crude oil prices dipped in Asian trade over concerns that a possible spike in US crude inventories signalled declining demand in the world’s biggest economy.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April shed Rs 5 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 5,468 per barrel in 2,281 lots. Similarly, the oil for May delivery moved down by Rs 4 or 0.07 per cent to Rs 5,517 per barrel in 102 lots.
Meanwhile, crude oil shed 45 cents to $106.88 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
