Crude oil rose Rs 13 to Rs 3,309 per barrel at the futures market today as speculators indulged in creating speculative positions, taking positive cues from Asian markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October was trading higher by Rs 13 or 0.39 per cent at Rs 3,309 per barrel in a business turnover of 2,722 lots. Similarly, the oil for delivery in November rose by a similar margin to quote at Rs 3,340 per barrel in 153 lots.
Analysts said speculative positions created by traders mainly influenced crude prices at the futures trade here.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate gained 30 cents or 0.59 per cent to $50.90 while global benchmark Brent was up 29 cents or 0.52 per cent at $56.54 a barrel.
