Crude oil futures traded higher by 0.41 per cent at Rs 3,684 per barrel at the futures trade as speculators widened their bets, taking positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in December rose Rs 15 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 3,684 per barrel in a business turnover of 3,031 lots. Likewise, the oil for delivery in January was trading higher by Rs 13 or 0.35 per cent at Rs 3,694 per barrel in 687 lots.
Analysts said, speculators widened their positions on the back of a firm trend overseas, which influenced crude futures at the domestic market.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate gained 0.17 per cent to $57.40 per barrel, while Brent crude, used to price international oils, rose 0.25 per cent to $63.39 per barrel.
