Crude oil futures prices fell 0.17 per cent to Rs 6,046 per barrel today as participants reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend in the Asian region.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in December fell Rs 107 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 6,046 per barrel in 760 lots. Similarly, the oil for delivery in January shed Rs 9 or 0.15 per cent to Rs 6,104 per barrel in 49 lots.
Analysts said that the fall in crude oil futures was attributed to a weak trend in the Asian trade as euphoria over bullish US economic data quickly wore off and talks on Iran’s controversial nuclear programme entered the third day.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for January delivery was down 27 cents at $95.17 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in the mid-morning trade today.
