Demand pushes pepper rates up

Spot pepper market continued to move up further on Friday on good demand. There were more buyers than sellers. On the terminal market 37 tonnes were traded at ₹590-615 a kg.

Spot prices increased by 300 a quintal to close at ₹59,500 (ungarbled) and ₹62,500 (garbled) a quintal. March contract on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹63,000 a quintal. Indian export prices were at $9,750 a tonne c&f to Europe and $10,000 a tonne c&f for US.
