Extended gain in futures market and improved physical demand ahead of Holi festival next week lifted the sentiment in edible oils markets on Thursday. Arrivals of groundnut, mustard and soyabean seeds in producing centres were stagnant. In Mumbai, about 100-150 tonnes of palmolein were sold at Rs 505 ex-JNPT in resale. Liberty sold about 800-1,000 tonnes at Rs 508-512, according to delivery point for April. Ruchi sold 150-200 tonnes at Rs 510 ex-Patalganga up to April 15, broker said.. Soyabean arrivals were 1.75 lakh bags and quoted at Rs 3,500-3,525 at Mandi level and Rs 3,600-3,625 plant delivery.
At the close of the day, Liberty was quoted palmolein at Rs 511 ex-Shahpur for April and Rs 508 ex-JNPT for April 15; super palmolein at Rs 550 and sunflower refined oil Rs 780.Ruchi quoted palmolein at Rs 510 Patalganga for April 15 and Rs 507 ex-JNPT for March 31; soyabean refined oil Rs 641 and sunflower refined oil Rs 771.Allana quoted super palmolein at Rs 548.In Saurashtra – Rajkot, groundnut oil declined to Rs 1,815 (Rs 1,835) for telia tin and Rs 1,180 (Rs 1,195) for 10 kg..
In Malaysia BMD, crude palm oil’s April futures contracts settled higher at MYR 2,436 (MYR 2,426); May MYR 2,449 (MYR 2,439) and June at MYR 2,456 (MYR 2,442) a tonne.
The Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (Rs/10 kg): Groundnut oil 1,200 (1,200); soya refined oil 640 (638); sunflower exp. ref. 685 (685); sunflower ref. 765 (770); rapeseed ref. oil 694 (690); rapeseed expeller ref. 664 (660); cottonseed ref. oil 605 (605) and palmolein 505 (503).
