Export hopes keeps cotton steady

Cotton price ruled steady on expectation of fresh export demand. On the other side, kapas or raw cotton edged up on fresh ginning demand. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton traded at ₹30,200-500 per candy of 356 kg. About 45,000 bales (of 170 kg) arrived in Gujarat and 1.75 lakh bales arrived in India. Cotton seed was up ₹4 to ₹355-365 for a maund of 20 kg. Kapas was up marginally by ₹5 to ₹770-800 in Gujarat and gin delivery kapas went for ₹805-815 in Rajkot.
