Downward trend continued in the small cardamom markets following soaring arrivals at auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Of the total arrival of 30 tonnes, almost the entire volume was traded. The maximum price was at ₹1,032 a kg. The auction average dropped to ₹879.35 a kg from ₹916.14 a kg the previous Monday. Exporters were active and they have bought an estimated 150 tonnes of cardamom last week. The auction average for the week dropped to ₹909.80 a kg from ₹966.52 the previous week. The individual auction average vacillated between ₹885 and ₹956 a kg last week. Total arrivals during the current season as on October 14 were at 6,115 tonnes and sales were at 5,968 tonnes. The individual auction average of the season was at ₹1,037.03 a kg. Prices in ₹/kg : 8mm green bold 1,100-1,200; 7 mm: 950-1,000; 6-7 mm 750- 800. Good bulk was being traded at ₹700/kg.
