India Infoline Commodities Ltd in a press statement on the arrest of its official in the NSE case said: "We have been reported of an arrest a senior official of our commodities broking subsidiary -- India Infoline Commodities Ltd by the EOW, Mumbai in connection with its investigation in the case of NSEL.
In this regard we would like to clarify that India Infoline Commodities Ltd and its officials have all along been fully cooperating with the police in their investigation in the NSEL case for the past over 18 months and had provided the documents, records and clarifications as required by the police.
While our utmost cooperation continues in the investigation, at the same time we are taking all necessary legal remedies, to protect the interest of the organisation, our clients and the employees.
We would like to once again clarify that India Infoline Commodities Ltd acted only as a broker for facilitating the execution of orders by the clients on NSEL platform and we did not have any proprietary position or funding positions towards NSEL contracts."
