The Forward Markets Commission (FMC) will hold a stakeholders' meet for rubber, pepper and cardamom here on January 21.
The objective of the meet is to discuss measures that will help streamline price and risk management in the commodity futures markets.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will deliver the keynote address while Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution K.V. Thomas will preside over the meeting, to be held at The Gateway Hotel.
Pankaj Agrawala, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution will deliver a special address. Ramesh Abhishek, Chairman, FMC, will deliver the welcome address.
The meet, being held in association with the National Commodity Exchanges, will discuss ways for improving hedgers’ participation in commodity futures market, particularly in pepper, rubber and cardamom, Ramesh Abhisekh said.
The Forward Markets Commission and the various commodity exchanges under it are being advised to hold such meetings regularly all over the country.
