The edible oils market witnessed dull trading for the second consecutive day on Wednesday following slack physical demand amid thin volatility in the futures market. Volumes remained thin and isolated even as stockists stayed away. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut oil rose by ₹5. Rapeseed and cotton refined oil declined by ₹5 and ₹2 for 10 kg each. Soyabean, sunflower oil and palmolein ruled steady.
Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹515 for Malaysian super palm December delivery. Liberty traded palmolein at ₹480/482, super palmolein ₹502 and soyabean refined oil ₹591. Ruchi traded palmolein ₹478, soyabean refined oil ₹588 and sunflower refined oil ₹625. Allana’s rates: palmolein ₹482, super palmolein ₹507, soyabean refined oil ₹600 and sunflower oil ₹635.
In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin was up ₹10 at ₹1,340 and loose (10 kg) was flat at ₹850.
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 850 (845), soya refined oil 585 (585), sunflower exp. ref. 565 (565), sunflower ref. 625 (625), rapeseed ref. oil 750 (755), rapeseed expeller ref. 720 (725), cottonseed ref. oil 563 (565) and palmolein 475 (475).
