No selling pressure of indigenous pepper and yet prices fell on Thursday on persistent supply of imported pepper at lower rates, trade sources told Business Line .
On the terminal market 26 tonnes were traded and of this 10 tonnes of pepper the high ranges were traded at ₹500 a kg.
Spot prices fell further by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹49,200 (ungarbled) and ₹51,200 (garbled) a quintal.
June contract on the IPSTA remained steady at ₹52,000 a quintal while July moved up by ₹1,000 a quintal to close at ₹52,000.
Indian export prices were at $8,125 a tonne c&f for Europe and $8,375 a tonne c&f for the US.
