Weak futures and scattered arrival of new crop dragged chana prices in Indore mandis with chana (kanta) at ₹3,250 a quintal (down ₹75-100). Chana (desi) also traded low at ₹3,000 (down ₹50), while chana (mausmi) ruled stable at ₹3,200-3,300. As new crop is expected to hit local mandis in 20-25 days, rally appears unlikely and it may decline to ₹3,000 a quintal in the coming days, said Sanjay Agrawal, a local chana trader.

Chana dal (average) was being quoted at ₹3,800-50, chana dal (medium) at ₹3,950-4,000, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹4,100-50 a quintal.

Sluggish trend also continued in dollar chana on slack domestic and export demand. Dollar chana traded low with its prices in Indore mandis today being quoted at ₹4,500-4,800. In container also, dollar chana traded low with 42/44 count at ₹5,550-75, 44/46 count ₹5,350-75, 58/60 count ruled at ₹4,800-25, while the 60/62 count was at ₹4,700-75 a quintal respectively.
