Even as local mandis remained closed today on account of Holi, both pulses and pulse seeds ruled steady in private trading. Amid steady rise in arrival of new crop, downtrend continued in masur for the second consecutive week with masur (bold) declining to ₹4,800 a quintal, while masur (medium) ruled at ₹4,500-4,600. Rise in arrival of new crop may further drag masur prices in the coming days by ₹500-600 amid report of better crop and rise in sowing area. Masur dal (medium) declined to ₹5,700-5,900, while masur dal (bold) declined to ₹6,000-6,200. Urad ruled firm at ₹6,000-6,200 with demand outstripping arrival. Urad (medium) was quoted at ₹5,700-5,900. Moong (bold) was at ₹7,600-7,8,00, while moong (medium) ruled at ₹7,200-7,400.
