Pepper markets on Monday fell further on slack demand.
Availability of imported cheap pepper in all the consuming centres has dried up demand for the Indian pepper and that in turn has pushed the prices further down, trade sources told Business Line .
Neither buyers nor sellers were seen in the market, they said.
No trading has taken place today. Spot prices fell by ₹300 a quintal to close at ₹45,900 (ungarbled) and ₹47,900(garbled) a quintal.
Indian export prices were at around $7,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $ 8,050 a tonne c&f for the US.
