Spot pepper prices edged up further on Thursday on continued resistance by sellers of indigenous produce. There were neither any arrival nor any off take. However, 10 tonnes of Sri Lankan pepper imported by Kerala-based importers were traded afloat at ₹390 a kg.

Spot prices moved up by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹40,500 (ungarbled) and ₹42,500 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $6,850 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,100 a tonne c&f for the US.
