Spot pepper prices edged up further on Wednesday on continued withdrawal of indigenous pepper sellers, who do not want to sell at the prevailing prices. Consequently, there were neither any arrival nor any offtake. However, some cash-and-carry business was taking place in the central Kerala primary markets, trade sources told BusinessLine .
Spot prices moved up further by ₹100 a quintal to ₹40,300 (ungarbled) and ₹42,300 (garbled). Export prices were at $6,850 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,100 for the US.
