The spot pepper prices gained on good buying interest on Thursday amid tight supply of heavy pepper, trade sources told Business Line. Tamil Nadu based dealers reported to have bought Rajkumari pepper at ₹515 a kg from the primary markets. On the terminal market high range pepper traded at ₹500-505 a kg. Pulpally- Bathery pepper traded at ₹495 a kg.
On the terminal market 17 tonnes were traded at prices ranging between ₹495-505 a kg.
Spot prices increased by ₹400 to close at ₹48,700 (ungarbled) and ₹50,700 a quintal.
Indian export prices were at $8,125 a tonne c&f for Europe and $8,375 a tonne c&f for the US.
