Spot pepper prices remained unchanged on Tuesday on sluggish activities following sellers withdrawal hoping the prices would move up. Neither were there any arrivals nor any off take on the terminal market today. As per the statistics released by the Vietnam Pepper Association, they said, India imported 7,355 tonnes of pepper from Vietnam during January-June 2017. Sri Lanka, which does not import pepper for domestic consumption, also imported 2,819 tonnes of pepper during the period and much of it must have found its way to India, they claimed. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹46,900 (ungarbled) and ₹48,900 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $7,900 a tonne c&f for Europe and $8,150 a tonne c&f for the US.
