Pepper markets slipped on Monday on bearish sentiments based on apprehensions of increased availability in the coming days. Reasons attributed to such a sentiment are the easier trends in other origins and the reported arrival of Sri Lankan pepper at $7,000 a tonne on the domestic market, market sources told BusinessLine . On the terminal market, only seven tonnes were traded traded at ₹665-675 a kg. Wayanad sellers were quoting ₹670, while buyers were at ₹660. Spot prices fell by ₹500 a quintal to ₹66,700 (ungarbled) and ₹69,700 (garbled). December contract on the IPSTA dropped by ₹1,000 to ₹70,500 a quintal. Export prices were at $10,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,050 for the US. GK Nair
