Spot pepper prices on Friday slipped on selling pressure . On the terminal market 18 tonnes were traded. Semi processors sold at ₹705 a kg. High range pepper traded at ₹710 and Rajkumari at ₹715 a kg.
Spot prices fell by ₹300 a quintal to close at ₹69,600 (ungarbled) and ₹72,600 (garbled) a quintal. July, August and September contracts on IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹72,000, ₹71,000 and ₹69,000 a quintal. Indian export prices declined following weakening of the currency to $10,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,050 a tonne c&f for US.
