The pepper markets on Thursday ruled steady on limited activities. Arrivals remained very thin following rains. Primary market dealers in Kerala's high ranges were reportedly buying exchange released pepper and trying to market it back, trade sources told Business Line .
On the terminal market 5 tonnes of high range pepper were traded at ₹585 a kg. Interstate dealers were buying. Spot prices remained steady at ₹68,000 (ungarbled) and ₹71,000 (garbled) a quintal. June, July and August contracts on the IPSTA also stayed unchanged at ₹71,000, ₹70,000 and ₹69,000 a quintal. Indian export prices were at $10,700 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,950 a tonne c&f for US.
