Pepper stays steady

The pepper markets on Monday ruled steady on matching demand and supply.Activities remained limited as there were neither many sellers nor many buyers. It was a sluggish market, trade sources told Business Line .

Some 14 tonnes of reprocessed material were traded, they said. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹69,000 (ungarbled) and ₹72,000 (garbled) a quintal. July, August and September contracts on the IPSTA also stayed steady at ₹71,000, ₹70,000 and ₹68,000 a quintal. Indian export prices were at $10,700 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,950 a tonne c&f for US.
