Pepper markets ruled steady on Tuesday on sluggish activities.
Buyers were waiting for the prices to decline further, while sellers of indigenous produce were reluctant to sell at the current rates, trade sources told BusinessLine . Imported pepper was being quoted at lower rates, they said.
There were reportedly neither any arrivals nor any offtake.
Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹40,900 (ungarbled) and ₹42,900 (garbled) a quintal.
Export prices were at $6,750 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,000 for the US.
