Spot pepper’s upward swing continued on strong demand amid tight supply. Exporters were showing interest to buy at ₹715 a kg but sellers were not ready below ₹720, market sources told Business Line. Meanwhile, eight tonnes were traded today at ₹710. On the spot, prices moved up further by ₹200 a quintal to ₹69,900 (ungarbled) and ₹72,900 (garbled). July, August and September contracts on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹72,000, ₹71,000 and ₹69,000 a quintal respectively. Export prices moved up to $11,050 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,300 for the US.
