The pepper sellers stayed away from the market following persistent fall in the prices of late, trade sources told Business Line . Buyers were quoting ₹425 a kg for high range pepper and the sellers were reluctant, they said. On the terminal market 16 tonnes from Wayanad, high ranges and the plains arrived and that were traded at ₹420,₹430 and ₹425 respectively. Spot prices fell further by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹41,900 (ungarbled) and ₹43,900 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $7,100 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,350 a tonne c&f for the US.
