Silver prices fell 0.55 per cent to Rs 43,765 per kg at the futures trade today even as the precious metal recovered in the global market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March fell Rs 242 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 43,765 per kg in a business turnover of 566 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined Rs 247 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 44,720 per kg in a business volume of 10 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators despite rebound in the precious metals overseas, attributed to the fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
In the international market, silver traded little changed at $19.40 an ounce in Singapore.
