Silver prices fell 0.62 per cent to Rs 44,817 per kg at the futures trade today amid profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend overseas.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 280 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 44,817 per kg in a business turnover of 274 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined Rs 240 or 0.54 per cent to Rs 44,289 per kg in a business volume of 478 lots.
In the international market, silver prices traded lower at $20.95 an ounce in Singapore from $20.96 on June 27.
Market analysts said apart from profit-booking by participants, a weak trend in global markets led to the fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
