Silver prices fell 0.25 per cent to ₹43,747 per kg at the futures trade today after participants reduced their exposures even as the metal recovered in the global market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March fell ₹111 or 0.25 per cent to ₹43,747 per kg in a business turnover of 464 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month May declined by ₹94 or 0.21 per cent to ₹44,705 per kg in a business volume of 26 lots.
Market analysts said trimming of positions by speculators mainly weighed on the prices, but the metal’s strength overseas capped the fall.
In the international market, silver rose 0.1 per cent to $19.36 an ounce in Singapore.
