Amid weak global trend, silver prices fell Rs 60 to Rs 37,944 per kg at the futures market today.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May traded lower by Rs 60 or 0.16 per cent at Rs 37,944 per kg in a business turnover of 12 lots.
The March contract of the metal lost Rs 46 or 0.12 per cent to Rs 37,306 per kg in 325 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators tracking a weak trend in global market mainly put pressure on silver prices at the futures trade here.
Globally, silver fell 0.3 per cent to $16.25 an ounce in Singapore, tumbling 17 per cent this year after a 36 per cent plunge in 2013.
Prices have been hurt by declining demand for the metal amid concern that slowing global growth will cut industrial usage amid an oversupply.
