Taking weak cues from global market, silver prices eased 0.21 per cent to Rs 38,585 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators indulged in trimming positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month March was down by Rs 83, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 38,585 per kg in a business turnover of 1,205 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May 2015 contracts shed Rs 26, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 39,246 per kg in a business volume of 7 lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.09 per cent to $17.04 an ounce in Singapore.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by a weak trend in global market, led to the fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
