Silver prices rose Rs 193 to Rs 37,302 per kg at the futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions due to firm global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July gained Rs 193 or 0.52 per cent to Rs 37,302 per kg in a business turnover of 2 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 115 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 36,638 per kg in 349 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions taken by speculators, taking positive cues from global markets, as investors assessed the outlook for interest rates before the US employment data, influenced the precious metal prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, the white metal added 0.1 per cent to $16.26 an ounce in Singapore.
