Silver futures prices moved up by Rs 771 to Rs 64,740 per kg today, as speculators created fresh positions on expectations of a rise in spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September moved up by Rs 771 or 1.21 per cent to Rs 64,740 per kg with a business turnover of 229 lots. Likewise, the metal for delivery in December gained Rs 597 or 0.91 per cent to Rs 66,495 per kg with a trade volume of 17,304 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators on hopes of a rise in demand at the spot market, mainly pushed up silver futures prices.
