Taking positive cues from global market, silver moved up by 1.23 per cent to Rs 56,260 per kg at the futures trading today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose Rs 712 or 1.28 per cent to Rs 56,260 per kg with a business turnover of 5,401 lots. Likewise, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 497 or 1.23 per cent to Rs 57,363 per kg with a trade volume of 196 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver futures prices was mostly supported by a firming trend in the precious metals overseas.
In the Asian region, silver prices rose 0.84 per cent to $32.47 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
