Silver prices moved up by Rs 123 to Rs 58,488 per kg at the futures trade today, largely in tandem with a firming global trend.
At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose Rs 123 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 58,488 per kg with a business turnover of 1,103 lots. Similarly, May contract traded higher by Rs 89 or 0.15 per cent to Rs 58,454 per kg with a business turnover of 45 lots.
Analysts said reports of a firming global trend after the Greece’s Parliament approved austerity measures to secure a second aid package, mainly supported the upside in silver prices at the futures trade here.
Meanwhile, the white metal rose 0.9 per cent to $33.86 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
