Taking positive cues from global market, silver moved up by 0.49 per cent to Rs 52,571 per kg at the futures trading today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose Rs 256 or 0.49 per cent to Rs 52,571 per kg with a business turnover of 1,576 lots. Likewise, May contract traded higher by Rs 251 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 53,664 per kg with a trade volume of 45 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in silver futures prices was mostly supported by a firming trend overseas.
In the Asian region, silver prices rose 1 per cent to $30.29 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
