Soyameal exports rose by 75 per cent to 41.26 lakh tonnes in 2010-11 oil year ended last month on bumper soyabean production, according to the industry data released on Saturday.
The country had exported 23.52 lakh tonnes of soyameal in the 2009-10 oil year (October-September, Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) said in a statement.
During September, soyameal exports fell by almost 24 per cent to 2.25 lakh tonnes compared with 2.95 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.
India exports soyameal to Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and China among others.
Soyabean production stood at record 12.65 million tonnes in 2010-2011 crop year (July-June), according to government data. However, SOPA has pegged soyabean output 10.12 million tonnes in last crop year.
