Spot rubber prices were firm on Friday. The market opened steady but regained strength as TOCOM rubber futures extended gains buoyed by a weaker Yen and surge in oil prices. RSS 4 improved to ₹116 (₹115) a kg, according to traders. The grade was steady at ₹116 and ₹113 respectively according to the Rubber Board and dealers. October futures increased to ₹117.50 (₹116.72), November to ₹119.25 (₹117), December to ₹120.20 (₹117.72), January to ₹120.01 (₹117.83) and February to ₹120.60 (₹118.63) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. RSS 3 (spot) firmed up to ₹111.82 (₹109.95) at Bangkok. October futures improved to ¥173.1 (₹111.38) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. ). The Spot rubber rates ₹/kg were: RSS-4: 116 (115); RSS-5: 111.50 (111); Ungraded: 98 (97); ISNR 20: 96 (95) and Latex (60% drc): 71.50 (71).
