Sugar prices declined by ₹35-40 a quintal at producing level on Tuesday as few millers sold the fair quality stocks at heavy discount while fine variety producers sold the commodity at ₹10-20 lower. Weak trend at mill level and lifting pressure pulled down naka rates by ₹30-40. On the spot, prices ruled steady.
Arrivals and local dispatches at Vashi market remained at par keeping inventory unchanged at 110-115 truck loads. Arrivals were at 62-63 truck loads and local dispatches were at 61-62 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,682-2,792 (2,680-2,792) and M-grade ₹2,780-2,912 (2,782-2,912). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,620-2,700 (2,650-2,740) and M-grade ₹2,720-2,830 (2,720-2,860).
