Tight supply pushes pepper up

Tight availability pushed up spot pepper prices further on Tuesday. On the terminal market, 30 tonnes were traded. Spot prices moved up by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹57,900 (ungarbled) and ₹60,900 (garbled) a quintal. April and June contracts remained unchanged at ₹61,000 and ₹57,000 a quintal respectively. Indian export prices were at $9,675 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,925 a tonne c&f for the US.
