The turmeric market here will remain closed for ten days in connection with Mariamman festival.
R.K.V. Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association told reporters today that for Good Friday all four markets will be closed on March 29. Further for the Mariamman temple chariot dragging programme, the markets will be closed for one week.
Totally ten day holiday has been declared, he said.
