Good domestic demand coupled with easy availability of stocks kept dara wheat and flour prices unaltered on Tuesday.
Satish Kumar, a trader, said in the absence of any major market moving factors, dara wheat and flour prices have been ruling without any major alteration. FCI’s stocks and domestic demand are providing good support currently and prices may continue to rule around current levels even in the coming days, he added.
Traders expect that wheat and flour to drop later this month.
In the physical market, dara wheat sold at ₹1,610-20 a quintal. Around 1,000 bags of wheat arrived and stocks were directly offloaded at the mills. Mill delivery was at ₹1,610 while delivery at the chakki was at ₹1,620.
A negative trend was witnessed on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. March contracts dropped by ₹5 to ₹1,633 with an open interest of 5,170 lots. April contracts eased by ₹3 and traded at ₹1,562.
According to the market experts, futures market may continue to witness a sideways trend in the coming days.
Flour Prices
Following a steady trend in wheat, flour remained unchanged and sold at ₹1,850. On the other hand, Chokar dropped further by ₹20 and sold at ₹1,350 a quintal.
