The rupee made a smart recovery to finish 14 paise higher against the dollar at the inter-bank foreign exchange market on the back of higher equities.
The rupee ended at 67.21 against Tuesday's close of 67.35.
The domestic currency opened at 67.45 and traded between 67.51 and 67.17 in intra-day deals.
On Tuesday, the rupee had snapped its 6-day winning spree by falling 27 paise to close at 67.35 on fresh demand for dollars from banks and importers amid a fall in crude oil prices.
The benchmark BSE Sensex closed 135 points higher at 24,793.96.
